Meeting Minutes - 02/16/2025

Image
In February, the Wild Wescotts learned about Curling at the Dakota County Curling Club in Lakeville MN.  We started with some curling history and background, then went out to the ice to learn techniques.  We had access to some curling stones that were light enough for youth, and some standard weighted stones.  There was other equipment to help us slide on the ice, and keep our balance.  We also learned how to sweep to help direct the stones.  Prior to this activity, some members thought curling would be easy, and others thought it would be difficult.  It turns out they were all right!  Some aspects were more difficult than what we expected, and other aspects were pretty easy.  The activity was a lot of fun, and something that is very inclusive for all sorts of abilities.  There was no formal business meeting, and our next business meeting will be at our annual project day in March.
